Sorry to disappoint you all, admins, this is a good idea, but it just won't work on what is supposed to be a blind friendly site. You'll just drive everyone away with word verifications, unless there is an alternative way of doing that. J, you should know that since you're blind yourself. Yahoo has it all over their site which makes new signups impossible. I like the security to prevent automated robots and things to play or what not, but on a blind friendly site it just won't work. There has to be something accessible that can work.

Where do you find this code?

Post 6 by chocolab (move over school!) on Friday, 01-Apr-2005 1:06:06

feeble, it's in the annigram mania. As for the verrification code, this can work, if we get the code emailed to us like a spam filter did I had. They gave you the numbers, you entered and were able to set it up for yourself after that. We should enter our zone id's and passes and then our emails, so we prove we're registered with it.

MV, I don't think that will work. The cheater will be able to do that and then they'd still be able to cheat.

Thanks for being such good sports.

Well now I feel stupid. I was buying this crap hook, line, and sinker. Thanks for remidning me that it is April Fools Day. I'll try to think of a good trick to play on someone.

At least it slowed down the cheaters.

well, it didn't really upset me, I mean I believed it, but games are only a time passer, expecially if I'm waiting for board posts to be answered, or when I'm having one or 2 private qns, and people take eternity to respond to my every message. I just went there, saw the minimum word size was 8 letters, and just said, oh, ok, and left it. What really got me upset was when I couldn't get in my account to turn quicknotes off, now that almost put me in apanic. I got the thing saying I was authorized. Haven't tried going back in. I had to get off at the time, so still have them on, but for awhile I thought I was stuck in public quicknotes.

I meant when I tried going back in my account last night, it said I wasn't authorized to edit accounts, or something like, then I got the e-mail saying I was verified to post on the boards, participate in quicknotes. That really confused me, for one thing I was still able to send and receive quicknotes even though I couldn't get in my account. Thank good ness, it let me back in, so I turned them all off for right now.

i did not get any e-mails from you all which is cool i think that was an odd way to do things but yes we need some help combatting cheaters however i have no clue we ould have some sort of ip tracker to see who is using what ip addresses and block the ip of the heaters totally from accessing the site

Ya. the user profiles thing was a separate bug. At least person had their premium taken away from them. Not good, but fixed as far as we know now.
